Karl Kilb IV is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from New York City. Karl and the piano have been a consistent duo since he was 5 years old. He is classically trained and also taught himself how to play popular songs, memorizing pieces and melodies at a young age. A few years later he began to learn the clarinet and saxophone, composing and performing on all three instruments.
Karl attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in NYC where he performed in orchestras and bands and grew his passion for music. He went on to New York University where he graduated from the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in the Tisch School of the Arts.
He has released two singles, "Heart" and "Dawn," which are out on all streaming platforms. He recently performed his original compositions for solo piano and a piano trio at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York City. Karl arranged and notated Grammy award winning artist Gloria Gaynor's "Make Someone Smile" which was performed at St. Patrick's Cathedral.
Karl has produced many tracks across Hip-Hop, Pop, and Rock, two of which have been synced on ESPN and ABC. He has amassed over 600,000 streams as a producer and songwriter. Karl is also a film and video game composer. He most recently scored the documentary Starting Over which premiered in March 2025. Karl is the Founder of The Kilb School of Music, which provides private piano and clarinet lessons in NY and PA.
Greek Cypriot and Italian on his Mom's side and German and Irish on his Dad's, Karl has been surrounded by various cultures, genres of music, and people that have influenced his sound.
Karl aims to transform the landscape of classical music through his compositions, performances, and distinct visuals.
